STORE BRANDS MAGAZINE HIGHLIGHTS MERCHANDISING TECHNIQUES
DAVACO’s CEO Rick Davis Adds Insight

Dallas, TX (July 1, 2011) – DAVACO, Inc. (www.davacoinc.com), the national leading provider of retail and restaurant services, announced that Rick Davis was recently featured in Progressive Grocer’s Store Brands Magazine in an article entitled, “Set the Stage,” by Kathie Canning (May 2011). Davis, who founded DAVACO in 1990 and currently serves as chief executive officer, provided valuable insight related to product merchandising for food, drug and mass merchandise retailers.

Canning asked a select group of marketing, sales, merchandising and branding services executives to provide tips to maximize profitability of products on the shelf. Davis commented that “retailers should support strategic store brand placement with additional marketing.” He added, “point-of-sale and other store signage, in-store coupons, promotions and ‘seasonal pushes’ all are proven methods of moving product and boosting category sales.”

Davis also noted the increasing role of digital signage as a merchandising/marketing tool. “For example, some retailers are selling advertising space on their digital signage for incremental profits. And because content is controlled from a centralized location, retailers are even using their digital signage to facilitate internal training programs to be reviewed before or after store hours,” he said.

DAVACO is a nationwide company with over 800 employees that represents a wide range of industry segments, including: specialty retail, drug, convenience, home centers, big box/supercenter, restaurants, discount/outlets and department stores. The company’s specialized merchandising team manages consumer product programs in retail and restaurant spaces across the country. Services include: Planogram execution; compliance and continuity of merchandising; rollouts, resets and recalls; remerchandising/movement or relocation of product; new product categories and item cut-ins; new store sets and product placement. All services are complemented by DAVACO’s proprietary ClearThread technology which provides clients updates on programs, to the store level.
