Davis Family Recognized by The Institute for Family Business at Baylor University
DALLAS (October 23, 2006) –DAVACO Inc., the leading national provider of retail services and solutions, has been named the Texas Family Business of the Year® by the Institute for Family Business at Baylor University. The Texas Family Business of the Year® program is presented annually by the Institute for Family Business, which is part of the John F. Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship at Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business. The annual awards are designed to recognize and honor outstanding family firms from across the state.
The 17th annual awards will be presented on November 2, 2006 on the Baylor Campus in Waco, Texas. Rick Davis, chief executive officer/owner of DAVACO, will accept the award for Family Business of the Year in the large company category, along with his wife, Sheree, treasurer/secretary of DAVACO, and their two daughters, Paige, a senior at Baylor, and Meredith, a sophomore at First Baptist Academy in Dallas.

The Texas Family Business of the Year is awarded in three general categories: Large (more than 151 employees), medium (51-150 employees) and small (50 or fewer employees). Firms are also recognized in other categories, including Family Values Award, Community Commitment Award, Fastest-Growing Family Business Award, Well-Managed Family Business Award, Founders Award and the Heritage Award.
